Area rugs, whether created by a rug designer for large production manufacturing or hand-knotted one-of-a-kind production. All have distinct colors achieved through a rigorous fiber dyeing process. Rugs can easily last decades, depending on their construction and the care given to them. Sometimes, however, rugs can become faded due to dyes being damaged by UV rays, improper cleaning, or stains from cleaning products such as bleach spots, or color loss from pet urine.
